Ginny Lot 2

The Vogue Assortment--Four Ginny outfits,
all but the rain poncho with blue and white Vogue labels

upper left upper mid upper right
lower left lower mid lower right

All of the above items are for sale as one lot, Lot 2, for US$135. These outfits could be worth about US$50 to US$60 each -- IF you could find them. The hats and ballerina tutu headpiece are probably the most difficult to find. I don't recall ever seeing the black rain helmet at a local show.

Everybody loves a ballerina, and of course Ginny had to have a tutu, with a gold string that tied behind her neck. We think this is the 1956 Fun Time Ballerina Outfit #6045, though the label only says, "Vogue Dolls, Inc." There are two pink shoes, but one may have been a bedroom slipper instead of a ballet slipper (and there are no ties left on them now). A flowered headpiece completes the outfit.

For daytime wear, the conservative look was enhanced with the perky but muted tones of the plaid top (also with label, "Vogue Dolls, Inc.") and gray pleated skirt. I'm not sure, but I think the red felt cap was part of this outfit.

Playtime was more fun in a cheery blue dress with white dots and white lace panels making it into a pinafore look. Also with the "Vogue Dolls, Inc." label, this outfit has a matching pair of panties.

Finally, an outfit with no label, and the tie is not the original, but I think it was part of the "official" gear for Ginny, a plaid poncho for rainy days.

The black boots and helmet-shaped black rain hat almost made Ginny wish for rain so she could wear them!
