How detailed are these maps?
The best maps we carry for Norway are the M711 Series maps from Statens Kartverk. These have a scale of 1:50 000 (one inch = approximately 0.79 mile).

The good news: these maps have much more detail than a map that shows all of Norway on one map.
It takes over 700 of these to cover all of Norway. To order the right map, you need to be able to zero in on a small area.
If you cannot pinpoint the area you want, you may decide to start with a map of intermediate scale.
The 1:250 000 (for southern Norway; one inch = approximately 3.95 miles) and 1:400 000 (for northern Norway; one inch = approximately 6.31 miles) maps from Freytag and Berndt are better than a map of all of Norway on one sheet. These maps cover Norway in 4 maps.

They do not have as much detail as the Statens Kartverk Series, but each map covers more territory, and they do show many places you will not see on an ordinary map or atlas of Europe.

How can I place an order?
Print out the Printable Order Form . Then go to our Online Brochure for Norway.
Write down the stock numbers, map section numbers, descriptions, prices of maps you wish to order, and other information requested on the order form.
- If you want us to verify that the place you want is on the map you order, send us as much information as possible to help us locate it (e.g. nearest larger towns, nearest city, former and current names, etc.).
- If you have questions you would like to ask before you order, contact us by email or by telephone to Elaine Larson at (515)232-7013 (be prepared to leave a message).
In a hurry?
We travel often. We can usually check email at least once a week, but we may not be able to answer questions or fill orders while we are out of town.
Please let us know before ordering if you need your order by a certain date. We can verify that we are in town and have the item(s) that you want in stock.
